Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference) is designed to secure what is considered a small measure of justice for Jewish victims of Nazi persecution. Through Claims Conference, JFSC provides services to eligible Holocaust Survivors to address emergency financial and home care needs.
Our team looks for solutions to support individuals to live as independently as possible by providing:
- Support to eligible Holocaust Survivors with assistance to apply for one-time compensation or pensions from the Claims Conference and/or German government;
- Support in applying for additional resources offered by government agencies;
- Home Support Services;
- Connection to cultural and social supports, and
- Advocacy.
If you or someone you know is a Holocaust survivor, you may be eligible for all or some of these programs. For further details and eligibility criteria, please contact us via email at info@jfsc.org or call 403-287-3510.
A Holocaust survivor is considered a person who suffered persecution due to his Jewish nationality, lived in a Ghetto, survived a concentration camp and/or who had to flee or evacuate from the place of persecution. It is interesting that even after many years of work we still encounter survivors that never applied for any German compensation. We are honoured to help them to apply for compensations that are provided by the German government and support the complex application process that often brings back many horrific memories.
